Gemma Leonard is a doctorally-educated physical therapist who gained hands-on experience as a top-tier clinician at Shenandoah University. With a strong medical foundation, she specializes in enhanced surgical rehabilitation, as well as manual therapy solutions for patients and athletes with joint and muscular pain. Through personalized treatment, Gemma strives to enhance the quality of life for her patients. She is honored to be a part of their journey as they return to the activities that bring them joy, whether simply playing with their kids or participating in the sport they love.

With a passion for community engagement through physical therapy, Gemma appreciates the blend of hands-on care with movement and exercise. She also enjoys getting to know people and feels that the nature of physical therapy allows her to better understand patients and therefore provide quality care.

Throughout her professional and personal journey, Gemma embodies the mindset that ​​success and progress aren’t always a straight line. She encourages her patients that growth and healing involve a combination of setbacks and accomplishments and that it is important to trust this process. An influential figure in Gemma’s life is her mother, whose resilience and compassion for others greatly inspire her.

Gemma enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, and reading whenever she gets the chance, especially the Chronicles of Narnia. She fosters an adventurous spirit through connecting with family abroad in England and hopes to travel to New Zealand one day to appreciate the beautiful scenery and wildlife.
