Dr. Ehsan Jazini

Spine Surgeon

WHY I BECAME A SPINE SURGEON

My path to becoming a spine surgeon was fueled by a personal experience following a car accident that left my brother with multiple injuries, including spinal fractures and scoliosis. This profound event ignited my commitment to enhancing spine care so that patients could have a brighter future.

Breaking News: Dr. Jazini Achieves Landmark 100th Prodisc® Cervical Disc Replacement Surgery

Dr. Jazini stands at the forefront of spine surgery, blending technical excellence with heartfelt empathy to support patients on their journey to an improved quality of life. He was recently performed the 100th prodisc® cervical disc replacement surgery; and is the fourth spine surgeon in the United States to achieve this milestone. His commitment to his patients stems from a personal dedication to delivering the highest standard of care, inspired by his own family experience.

With extensive training in both orthopedic spine surgery and neurosurgery, Dr. Jazini brings a comprehensive perspective to his practice. Starting his career at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and now leading at VSI, his transition to an independent model underscores his dedication to providing each patient with personalized attention and customized care. He spends quality time and listens to each patient, understanding their challenges and goals for recovery.

Prioritizing non-surgical solutions whenever possible, Dr. Jazini’s approach emphasizes natural healing. Remarkably, the majority of his patients experience significant improvements without resorting to surgery, as a result of natural regenerative therapies such as stem cell therapy and PRP treatments; and spine-specialized physical therapy and lifestyle changes.

Dr. Jazini has pioneered numerous advancements in the operating room. From being the first in the nation to perform procedures like cervical and lumbar disc replacement to leveraging augmented reality (AR) technology for precision surgeries, and artificial intelligence (AI) for custom scoliosis correction surgery, his methods prioritize patient safety, minimize invasiveness, and accelerate recovery.

Beyond his surgical expertise, Dr. Jazini is a global leader in education and research. His role in the evolution of disc replacement surgery has earned him recognition as a sought-after educator among his peers, enabling surgeons worldwide to elevate their practices and provide an elevated level of care to their patients.

Dr. Jazini’s commitment to patient care extends beyond the operating room. His leadership in developing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols has transformed surgical outcomes, facilitating quicker recoveries and enabling patients to return to their active lives with minimal discomfort.
